State Rep. Barbara Dittrich, R-Oconomowoc, has announced that she is running for reelection to the state Assembly. However, due to the redrawing of legislative maps, she is seeking re-election in the 99th District instead of the 38th District.
Dittrich has represented the 38th since 2018.
The 99th district is similar to the old 38th district, and now includes municipalities in Dodge and Waukesha counties including Oconomowoc, Town of Oconomowoc, Town of Merton, Nashotah, Lac La Belle, Town of Lebanon, Chenequa, Hartland, Town of Ixonia, Town of Rubicon, and Neosho.
In a statement Dittrich said, “I have been on the front lines fighting for school choice, protecting women in sports, expanding youth apprenticeships, preserving victims’ rights, combating addiction and mental health troubles in Wisconsin, and keeping our state financially sound. Those issues as well as keeping our state a great place to live, work, and raise a family are all critical at a time like this,”
“When I first ran for office six years ago, it was the next step in a long career of service to individuals and families. There is still much work to be done in Wisconsin. I pride myself on approachable, accessible government, and I very much look forward to helping people around the 99th Assembly District in the days to come.”
The fall election is Nov. 5, 2024.
