The breaking news: President Biden drops out of presidential race and endorses Kamala Harris.
President Joe Biden announced on July 21 that he is dropping out of the presidential race and won’t seek another term.
However, he isn’t resigning as president.
House Speaker Mike Johnson wrote on X, “At this unprecedented juncture in American history, we must be clear about what just happened. The Democrat Party forced the Democrat nominee off the ballot, just over 100 days before the election.
Having invalidated the votes of more than 14 million Americans who selected Joe Biden to be the Democrat nominee for president, the self-proclaimed ‘party of democracy’ has proven exactly the opposite.
The party’s prospects are no better now with Vice President Kamala Harris, who co-owns the disastrous policy failures of the Biden Administration. As second in command and a completely inept border czar, Harris has been a gleeful accomplice — not only in the destruction of American sovereignty, security, and prosperity, but also in the largest political coverup in U.S. history. She has known for as long as anyone of his incapacity to serve.
Regardless of the chaos in the current White House, our adversaries around the globe should be reminded that the U.S. Congress, the U.S. military, and the American people are fully prepared and committed to defend our interests both at home and abroad.
If Joe Biden is not fit to run for President, he is not fit to serve as President. He must resign the office immediately. November 5 cannot arrive soon enough.”

In the letter posted to his X account, Biden wrote, “It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.
Added Biden, “I will speak to the Nation later this week in more detail about my decision.”
According to CNN, the last time an incumbent president decided against seeking reelection was President Lyndon Johnson in 1968, although Johnson made the decision earlier in the process.
CNN admitted, “Biden’s decision is also likely to raise questions about his ability to fulfill the duties of the presidency for the remainder of his term.”
“Having already denied voters the chance to replace Joe Biden during the primaries, the Democrat Party is now subjecting the American people to chaos, uncertainty, and an incapacitated presidency. If Joe Biden is incapable of the rigors of running for reelection, then he cannot be trusted to fulfill the duties of his office. Everyone from Vice President Harris, Tammy Baldwin, and the Democrat establishment bears responsibility for enabling the vanity and self-delusion of the Bidens,” WisGOP Chairman Brian Schimming said in a statement.
Biden endorsed VP Kamala Harris in a subsequent post, writing, “My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term. My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this.”
According to Politico, though, Biden’s delegates now become “free agents” who don’t have to choose Harris.
In 2019, Harris was ranked the nation’s most liberal U.S. Senator.

The letter comes on the heels of a troubling debate performance in which the president, 81, at times sounded incoherent.
The decision, which came after unprecedented pressure from leaders in his own party, throws the Democratic nomination process into chaos. It comes just over one week following the failed assassination attempt against the Republican Party’s nominee, former President Donald Trump, who has been surging in the polls.
“Over the past three and a half years, we have made great progress as a Nation,” Biden’s letter started. “Today, America has the strongest economy in the word. We’ve made historic investments in rebuilding our Nation, in lowering prescription drug costs for seniors, and in expanding affordable health care to a record number of Americans. We’ve provided critically needed care to a million veterans exposed to toxic substances. Passed the first gun safety law in 30 years. Appointed the first African American woman to the Supreme Court. And passed the most significant climate legislation in the history of the world. America has never been better positioned to lead than we are today.”
Those claims stand in stark contrast to the message of former President Donald Trump, who excoriated the Biden administration during his RNC acceptance speech, singling out rising inflation, Putin’s invasion of Ukraine and Hamas’ attack on Israel, the economy, and the border crisis.
Biden wrote, “I know none of this could have been done without you, the American people. Together, we overcame a once in a century pandemic and the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. We’ve protected and preserved our Democracy. And we’ve revitalized and strengthened our alliances around the world.”
Trump also noted that Biden’s party’s prosecutors have targeted their opposing political party’s nominee with a series of prosecutions, including one using a novel legal theory that raises a host of questions.
“For now, let me express my deepest gratitude to all those who have worked so hard to see me reelected,” said Biden. “I want to thank Vice President Kamala Harris for being an extraordinary partner in all this work. And let me express my heartfelt appreciation to the American people for the faith and trust you have placed in me.”
It should be noted that Biden had previously named Harris border czar.
“I believe today what I always have, that there is nothing America can’t do – when we do it together. We just have to remember we are the United State of America,” wrote Biden.
