Waukesha County Sheriff Eric Severson has endorsed Jim Piwowarczyk for state Assembly, saying he believes Piwowarczyk will serve the district with “great effectiveness.”

“I’m enthusiastic about Jim’s candidacy. He will be a strong, smart voice for public safety and has the analytical skills to serve his district with great effectiveness,” Severson said.

Severson joins a chorus of Waukesha and Washington County leaders who have all endorsed Piwowarczyk, 53, for the 98th Assembly seat. The Assembly seat includes Hartford, Sussex, Merton, Richfield, the Town of Erin, Lisbon, and more.

In addition to Severson, Piwowarczyk, the co-founder of the conservative news site Wisconsin Right Now.com and a former law enforcement officer, has been endorsed by Washington County Sheriff Marty Schulteis; Washington County Executive Josh Schoemann; Washington County DA Mark Bensen; Washington County Treasurer and former Hartford Mayor Scott Henke; District Attorney Eric Toney, the former Republican candidate for Attorney General; state Rep. Barb Dittrich (R-Oconomowoc); Republican businessman Will Martin; Republican state Rep. Bob Donovan, and Republican state Sen. Dan Knodl.

Piwowarczyk, of the Town of Erin, was raised in Washington County. He served for almost 20 years as a law enforcement officer for Glendale and Kewaskum Police Departments, and he was a sergeant on the Glendale force. He is running as a Republican.

“I will fight hard for conservative values in the Wisconsin Legislature,” Piwowarczyk said. “We must turn this state around from the disastrous policies of Gov. Tony Evers and President Joe Biden. We must ensure that Republicans keep control of the Legislature. I am very grateful to have the endorsement of Sheriff Eric Severson, who has led the way on tough immigration enforcement and held the line on public safety in Waukesha County.”

Piwowarczyk is a lifelong conservative and a supporter of President Donald Trump, who is running on a platform to improve the economy, improve public safety, strengthen schools, and get tough on illegal immigration. The other candidate in the race is former legislator Don Pridemore, 77. There is no incumbent in the race.
