President Donald Trump has thrown his support to Wisconsin Supreme Court candidate Brad Schimel, writing that Schimel’s leftist opponent Susan Crawford has repeatedly given child molesters, rapists, women beaters, and domestic abusers light sentences.
Trump said that if Crawford wins the “movement to restore our nation will bypass Wisconsin.” He urged Wisconsinites to get out early and vote for Brad Schimel, the former Wisconsin attorney general and Waukesha County DA, who is now a Waukesha County judge.
Crawford is a liberal Dane County judge in Madison who previously worked for Democrat Gov. Jim Doyle (included during his early release prison program roll out). Wisconsin Right Now has taken the lead in scrutinizing her record, which includes giving such a weak sentence to a child rapist that he’s already out. She repeatedly defended that sentence – to Curtis O’Brien, who brutally raped a 5-year-old girl – in the only debate.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel found in an in-depth analysis that Schimel gives stronger sentences to rapists than Crawford does, when all sentences are considered. Crawford is also very liberal in ideology – she filed lawsuits seeking to overturn Voter ID and Act 10 – and she also was a hired gun for an Israeli big pharma company that was tied to the opioid epidemic.
“WISCONSIN: There is a very important Election for State Supreme Court on April 1st, and Early Voting is now underway,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post on March 22, 2025.
“Brad Schimel is running against Radical Left Liberal Susan Crawford, who has repeatedly given child molesters, rapists, women beaters, and domestic abusers ‘light’ sentences. She is the handpicked voice of the Leftists who are out to destroy your State, and our Country — And if she wins, the Movement to restore our Nation will bypass Wisconsin. All Voters who believe in Common Sense should GET OUT TO VOTE EARLY for Brad Schimel,” Trump wrote.
“By turning out and VOTING EARLY, you will be helping to Uphold the Rule of Law, Protect our Incredible Police, Secure our Beloved Constitution, Safeguard our Inalienable Rights, and PRESERVE LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL.”
Schimel was the Republican attorney general.
Crawford is backed by millions in spending from leftist billionaires like George Soros. Schimel is backed by millions in spending from Elon Musk.
