Trump vs. Biden and the Chattering Class [Up Against the Wall]

This is an opinion column by Terrence Wall.

So Trudeau quit, right after meeting with Trump. That says somethin’. He must have realized, oh crap, I can’t deal with this guy, and all my shortcomings and stupid decisions are going to come to light, better to get out now! Now that Trudeau has wrecked Canada, he’s leaving it up to someone else to clean up and deal with Trump.

In case you missed it, Trump’s family company released a statement outlining in quite some detail just exactly how they will deal with potential or even perceived conflicts of interest in doing business during President Trump’s four-year term. That’s pretty amazing, since they are not required to issue such a statement, nor to produce any such policy or guidelines.

In fact, I have never heard of any president’s business ever even being concerned about ethics and conflicts. (We run into a lot of cases of conflicts with locals on councils, plan commissions and the like, and it’s quite challenging to point those out and ask them to recuse themselves.)

Now compare the Trump Organization’s conflict policy and concerns about doing things right, with the accusations against various members of the Biden family involving foreign
governments or their representatives. Perhaps Biden’s family syndicate was more concerned about how to rake in the money.

Let’s just set the record straight; the Trump Organization has set a new standard for government officials and their potential conflicts and how to handle them.

Meanwhile, the tech oligarchs are changing up their corporate censorship policies to try to
please Trump before he has the power to break them up (which is what should happen).

And numerous papers are printing columns saying that Trump’s Justice Department shouldn’t chase Biden…. the same papers that egged Biden’s Justice Department to file and pursue false charges against Trump. You see, now that the shoe is on the other foot, the leftists are trying to convince Trump through public pressure not to pursue charges against Biden and son, who of course got a sweeping pardon.

Meanwhile, the leftists in the NY Manhattan’s D.A. office continue to conspire with a biased judge to convict Trump of a phony 38 charges for correctly declaring a settlement agreement payment the same way tens of thousands of others have in this country. They just want to clear the decks of this embarrassing case and close it out before Trump takes office. And while Trump apparently can’t pardon himself in this case because it’s a state case, Trump can appeal it though, but that’ll prove another huge distraction while he’s president. Do we want him focused on the appeal or on running the country to keep us out of WWIII when China is threatening to invade free and democratic Taiwan?

Manhattan’s D.A. pursued this ridiculous case at a time when there is so much violent crime and illegal immigrant crime that residents are quite literally packing up and leaving the city and the state. But hey, he got no time for you! Only time to pursue phony cases against political opponents to further his own political career. Justice isn’t blind anymore; it’s focused on further its own career.

Well, I can tell you from personal experience that a lot of people, liberals included, have told me they’re looking forward to Trump taking the oath of office. (It’ll be a boondoggle for the leftist media of course, since they will finally be able to criticize the president again.)

I’ll be attending the inauguration in person – what can I say, it’s a historic event and I was given the opportunity, so let’s go for it! I’ll report back to you on the experience. Should be
interesting. I just hope, really hope, that the Secret Service does a better job this time than they did on the campaign trail.

Sidebar Story: I don’t recall if I mentioned this before. When I visited Trump in 2016 at the Pfister Hotel, I pulled my Ford F150 into the underground garage where the Secret Service had set up their inspection station. I pulled in, and they tell me to roll all the windows down and keep my hands where they can see them. Then they inspect the truck, and walk a German shepherd around the truck sniffing it. When the dog got to the back and sat down, I thought, ok, good, all done. But nope! That was an alert. The agent yells out ‘ALERT!’ and a dozen agents surround my truck pointing their guns and a couple assault rifles at me, telling me not to move.

Then they open the bed of the truck and search inside, where they find Lambeau’s dog food! The agent called out ‘false alarm, he alerted on dog food’, at which point all the other agents start laughing! But I wasn’t laughing, believe me; I was trying to catch my breath.
