The Republican Party of Waukesha County “invites you to a powerful Movie Night on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 7 p.m., as we celebrate the courage of those who shaped our nation’s history and honor one of America’s greatest presidents,” the party said in a statement sent to Wisconsin Right Now.
The free double-feature consists of the “Reagan” movie starring Dennis Quaid and “Liberty at Stake: The Joshua Glover Story.”
The Waukesha Co. GOP is located at W238N1700 Rockwood Dr. Suite C, Pewaukee, WI 53188.
“To begin the evening, in recognition of Black History Month, we will present Liberty at Stake: The Joshua Glover Story. This inspiring short film tells the story of Joshua Glover, a fugitive slave whose daring escape and rescue in Wisconsin ignited a movement—leading
directly to the founding of the Republican Party. His fight for freedom echoes through time, reminding us of the party’s origins in the battle for liberty and justice,” the party wrote in a statement.
“We are honored to have Michael Jahr, the producer and director of Liberty at Stake, join
us for the evening! He will share insights into the making of the film, discuss Joshua Glover’s extraordinary life, and answer questions about this pivotal moment in history. Following this gripping short film, we will proudly feature Reagan, starring Dennis Quaid and Jon Voight. This incredible film captures the life and leadership of President Ronald Reagan, a man whose unwavering vision restored American optimism and defended freedom across the globe.”
“This event is open to the public as part of our ongoing mission to share the truth about the foundations of our party and the people who fought for the principles we hold dear. High school students, college students, and all freedom-loving Americans are encouraged to attend! Join us for an evening of inspiration, reflection, and celebration of the enduring values that define our great nation. We look forward to seeing you there!” the party noted.
